Why Piano Adventures?

My First Piano Adventures

Written for ages 5 and 6, My First Piano Adventure captures the child’s playful spirit. Fun-filled songs, rhythm games, and technique activities develop beginning keyboard skills.

​The Primer Level’s A, B, and C introduce young beginners to the keyboard, note values, and the grand staff. Students play in C 5-finger scale patterns, develop recognition of steps and skips, and learn letter names independent of finger number.
Musicianship is built through the use of dynamics and coloristic experimentation with the pedal.

Adult Piano Adventures enables the adult beginner to play music for pleasure while developing musical understanding. This comprehensive, “All-In-One” book includes lessons, technique, and theory in a single volume for ease of use.
​
In Book 1, Students learn fundamentals of music notation, chord playing, and musical form.
​
Book 2 offers carefully sequenced instruction in note reading, music theory and piano technique. It introduces concepts such as triad inversions, time signatures, 16th-note rhythms, connected pedaling, and major and minor scales, plus a special focus on chord playing with lead sheets of familiar songs.
​
​At the completion of Adult Book 2, students are ready to move into Level 3B of Piano Adventures.
​
Online access to audio and video support is included.

Beginning students ages 7 to 11, start at the Primer Level and progress through the eight levels of the basic edition (Primer through 5).

Accelerated Book 1 covers fundamental rhythms, all the notes of the grand staff, C position, G position.
​
​Accelerated Book 2 covers Major and minor pentascale, intervals through the 6th, and C, G, and F major scales.
​
​Students learn and develop the same skills as younger students of Piano Adventures from the Primer through Level 2B, but in a format suitable for their age group.
​
​At the completion of Accelerated Book 2, students are ready to move into Level 3A of Piano Adventures.
​
​At each level, Students work through the correlated Lesson, Theory, Technique & Artistry, and Performance Books work together to support the whole musician.
